Compass Of My Heart is an invitation to listen inwards, to feel deeply, and to trust the intelligence of your own body and heart.
Geeti first wrote the English lyrics and basic melody for a conscious dance class for Michelle Mahrer, and Gyan added piano and a beautiful Sanskrit chorus celebrating the Divine Mother and the life-affirming creative energy within us all.
As a conscious movement facilitator, Geeti wanted this piece to feel alive in the body — something you can truly move with and be moved by!
So we would love you to take a listen, close your eyes, move your body and connect with your heart and see where it takes you and let us know how it made you feel!
The song's creation process was quite a journey, as Geeti was tested multiple times in being true to her original vision and not giving up until she felt the song matched the energy and feel of what her heart had felt! Gyan changed the piano part, they added the wonderful 8th generation sarangi player Sangeet Mishra and softened the original production and then voilá!
It ended up taking three and a half years, but feels it was worth it as we feel happy with how it has now turned out!
So we hope that it inspires you to follow and be true to the compass of your heart... no matter how long it takes!

Sangeet Mishra's heart touching sarangi, woven together with violin by Ro Celeste, Willow Stahlut, Ben Adler and tabla by Maharshi Raval. Gyan plays piano, flute, harmonium, guitar and bass and Geeti plays manjira.

The Story Behind Compass of My Heart
In this video, we share the inspiration, the challenges we faced along the way, and the journey of bringing this song into its full expression. This piece was born from conscious dance and a deep listening to the wisdom of the body and heart.
What began as an offering for a dance class slowly evolved through collaboration, learning, and perseverance into the fully realised track you hear today.
Like many creative journeys, it wasn’t without its obstacles! — from navigating the recording process to refining the sound and staying true to the essence of the song. In this video, we open up about that process and how we moved through it.
