Sound Healing

What is sound healing?
Presence + healing intention + sound = sound healing
'Before its incarnation, the Soul is sound. It is for this reason that we love sound' - Hazrat Inayat Khan, The Mysticism of Sound and Music.
We are vibrational beings. We are made of sound and light! Optimum health occurs when we are vibrating in harmony at our natural, inherent resonant frequency. Each aspect of our beings, including our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects has a unique resonance, or rate of vibration. When one of these resonant frequencies begins to vibrate out of sync, dis-ease or ill health occurs.
Each moment we are totally immersed in sounds from many different sources, gross and subtle. These sounds have either a positive or negative cause and effect on the body, mind and spirit, and manifest as either ease or dis-ease.
The pure, clear vibrations of sound healing instruments and our voices have the capacity, allied with our presence and healing intention, to restore our natural resonance and bring us back into harmonic balance.

How sound healing works
Sound healing can restore our optimal health in the following ways:
-
Sympathetic resonance
-
Brainwave entrainment
-
Frequency following response, and
-
Balancing left / right brain hemispheres.
Sound healing also works effectively by:
-
Triggering the relaxation response to alleviate symptoms of chronic stress,
-
Releasing suppressed emotions associated with trauma from the past,
-
Harmonizing the bio-field (aura) and chakras.
Sound healing is an ancient healing art, science and spiritual practice.
For many thousands of years, ancient sages, masters and enlightened communities have known about and understood the significance and importance of sound as a sacred instrument of immense power and potential, not only for healing but also for spiritual development.
It is only in the last few decades that the ancient sound wisdom of the past has been rediscovered.
The emergence of sound as a holistic or complementary therapy highlights the importance of sound as a significant healing and transformational tool for the 21st century and beyond.

Geeti & Gyan's sound healing
Nurturing body, mind & soul
Our group sound baths aim to deeply relax & harmonize body, mind & prana, uplift the heart & reconnect you to your true nature.
Sound + silence
We weave a combination of voice, mantra, Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, flute, hand pans, gong, medicine drums, shakers, clap sticks, rainsticks, ocean drum, chimes, bells & silence into the inner journey to help nourish, heal & uplift your being.
Active & passive sound healing
‘Coming together to sing, feel, meditate, heal, recharge, receive and give back is such amazing medicine and so important and potent in this day and age’ - Gyan.
We often combine our sound baths with naada yoga, sacred song, kirtan, dance & movement, and/or yoga nidra with mantra. All these practices are in fact forms of sound healing.
Our aim is to empower everyone to heal themselves through sound, presence, energy & intention.
'Everyone is their own best sound healer. We need to be able to fully give to ourselves as well as receive, so our events are often a combination of active & passive sound healing practice’ - Gyan.
